I know it is not in your genre, but she writes successfully in the third person from two viewpoints, with two distinct voices. She heads each new section with the character's name, then writes a series of chapters in that character's voice. When she changees viewpoint, she writes the new character's name on a blank page, and changes back and forth in this way throughout the book. I know we all have our different layouts and ways. Just thought I'd mention it as it is a simple and clear method to change perspective :) Hope you don't have too much of a headache with this! I sympathise with the feeling of thinking you've finished, then being given advice that, although constructive, means you might have to shake everything around! Good luck:)Michelle Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03038790634678187516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4573347923663581454.post-87839029550649621842015-04-19T16:31:48.509+01:002015-04-19T16:31:48.509+01:00True Derek, and thank you. Hopefully it will make my writing tighter and more compelling, while keeping my own voice.Ben Blakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07735578117062846409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4573347923663581454.post-31079990948570765402015-04-19T14:48:56.243+01:002015-04-19T14:48:56.243+01:00Hmmm, I'm not sure I agree with your statement...Hmmm, I'm not sure I agree with your statement "there's no point asking for advice if you then ignore it". Editors are not always right. 19 people said Harry Potter would never sell and it took a child to recognize the potential. By all means get advice but you don't have to take it. I like your books because they are your voice, I don't want to read someone else's under your name. You're good at what you do, don't try to be someone else.Derekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11189841021106989201noreply@blogger.com
